December 2014 - Russian Unmasked Translation!

Russian Translation of Unmasked Unleashed!

September 2014 saw the release of Jim Anderson’s book Unmasked into the Russian-speaking world. Our good friend, Steve Weber, president of Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN) over the former Soviet Union, translated and published Unmasked in Russian. He then hosted Jim and teammate Mark Harnishfeger on a 9-day tour to release the book in Kiev, Ukraine and the surrounding region. They ministered at 9 churches in Kiev and Vinnitsa, met with various student groups, spoke on a radio program with Light Radio Emmanuel, and held a 3-day conference for counselors.

Steve-Weber.gifAmericans Steve and Kristi Weber have lived in Ukraine with their family for the past 20 years where their ministry has included oversight of CBN, Christian television production, and instrumental help in the founding of Ukraine Without Orphans. When asked why he has gone to such great expense and time to release the Unmasked message into the Russian-speaking world, this was Steve’s response: “This subject matter is relevant to every  person who desires to live godly in Christ Jesus. No matter your age or language, Unmasked is a clarion-call to our generation to wake up and get sexuality rooted in God’s boundaries. The need is great because the assault has been relentless, especially here in the former Soviet Union.” We bless Steve and Kristi for their generous partnership with us in releasing this message!

Jim-Anderson-in-Russia.gifJim ministered at New Life Church in Kiev whose senior pastor Anatoly Kalyuzhny (pictured here with Steve and Jim) is also bishop of the Evangelical Council of Independent Churches. Upon hearing the message, many repented for past sexual sin, received healing for their hearts, and were given the opportunity to live in a new way.
After Jim preached, Pastor Anatoly said to his congregation, “Jim has spoken to us much about a woman’s heart. But I have a strong sense that he also has much to say to us about men.” He then invited Jim to return and minister at a men’s conference in Kiev in 2015.

At the invitation of the youth department of the United Church of Christians of Evangelical Faith, Jim ministered to more than 500 people from different churches in Vinnitsa, along with refugees from eastern Ukraine. We trust that the seed sown here will have an impact in this church culture where it is rare for a message like this to be spoken.  Jim plowed ground as he spoke about identity theft, our original design as men and women, and God’s ways in relationships.

Jim-Anderson-Speaking-in-Russia.gifJim ministered in youth meetings at various churches including Christian Hope (a Ukrainian missionary church), Hillsong Church of Kiev, and City Youth (a youth ministry of International Christian Academy.) As he taught about the Father's revelation of the gift of sexuality and how the culture has perverted God’s values in this area, many young people repented of sexual shame and committed to walk in moral purity, desiring to walk in sexual freedom.

Jim-Anderson-Russian-Unmasked.gifAt the invitation of Emmanuel Association, Jim spoke at a conference for counselors entitled "Restoring Healthy Sexuality." Over three days, more than seventy leaders learned how to better serve others in the areas of sexuality and relationships. "This is a special message, and as the truth was sounded, I got freedom and healing from emotional wounds. Now I can help others find the same things through a proper understanding of God's design for sexuality,” shared Ekaterina, one of the conference attendees.

Jim-and-Mark.gifThe Unmasked message reached the Ukrainian Evangelical Theological Seminary in Forest-Vodice where future church leaders heard the life-changing message of sexual purity and received personal ministry. Jim and Mark are pictured here with the dean of the seminary.

Health-Women-Healthy-Family-Russia.gifJim and Mark joined the Webers and other Christian leaders in attending a rally for a project entitled “Healthy Woman - Healthy Family - Healthy Country!" It is aimed at promoting family values as the foundation of the spiritual, economic and cultural revival of the nation. In addition to focusing on breast cancer, the organizers noted that a major goal of the project is to remind Ukrainians that a healthy society is built from healthy families with correct values. In light of that goal, we pray that the Unmasked message will take firm root in the Russian-speaking world and be an integral part of the revival answer for these nations.
